Live Poker is a game of skill that is played in different formats and comes in different variants. Poker games are either played in stud, draw games or community card style.
Texas Hold ‘Em
It is the most popular poker game that is played in live poker tournaments in India. It is a community card game wherein player is dealt two hole cards and has to make the best five card combination using the two hole cards and five community cards dealt on the table.
Omaha High
It is the second-most played poker variation in Indian Poker rooms. In this poker games, each player is dealt four hole cards, and five community cards are dealt face-up on the ‘board’. The player has to make his best hand using two of his private cards, plus three of the five community cards.
Seven-Card Stud
It is stud game wherein player is dealt 7 cards- three down and four up, and has to make best possible 5-card hand from their 7. Before the betting begins, the player with the lowest-ranking upcard pays the bring-in during the beginning of the game.
Crazy Pineapple
This is a twisted variation of Texas Hold’em wherein a player is dealt three hole cards, and needs to discard one card after the flop. This underlying crazy factor of seeing the flop provide players higher odds of creating strong hands by discarding their weakest card.
Open Face Chinese
A variant of Chinese poker, this is a live poker game wherein a player receives five hole cards in the beginning and then one card at a time until each player has a 13 cards in hand. Then, the player has to set the cards in three rows of poker hands according to their strength.
