The September edition of Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT),which took place from 13th to 18th September 2017 at India’s largest and most luxurious casino-Deltin Royale in Goa, saw plenty of pros flocking down to battle it out for INR 2 Crore in GTD up for grab. While there were several players who won, the series saw three Adda52 Team Pros- Amit Jain, Nikita Luther and Minissha Lamba stealing the show. Yes, the pros of India’s largest poker site went on to dazzle with their deep runs, cashes and wins across various events in this edition of DPT. Let us have a look at their achievements:
1.Amit Jain- DPT 75K High Roller Champion
The biggest prizepool event of the DPT was 75K High Roller,which attracted 114 entries and outlasting them was the Adda52 Team Pro Amit ‘bblacklegend’ Jain who defeated Sahil ‘antilog’ Agarwal in heads-up to win the title for a whopping INR 24,94,800. Sahil walked away with an impressive INR 15,80,000 for his efforts. It is important to note that it was the largest cash for Amit in DPT history.
Amit hailing from Mumbai is one of the India’s most respected poker players both at domestic as well as international poker felts. He has made several deep runs in not only in DPT events, but also in various internationally-acclaimed events such as WSOP, APPT, APT and Macau Poker Cup. It was the year 2016 when he got huge media attention for making 14th place finish in $ 1,111 No Limit Hold’em Little One for One Drop (Event #69) at 47th World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2016, Las Vegas and hence securing his largest cash of $ 27,714. He was also in big headlines back in 2015 for shipping NLH Event at APT Philippines, Manila. Now he is back in the news for taking the DPT 75K High Roller and securing his career’s second largest cash, which adds significantly to his existing total live earnings $167,741.
2.Nikita Luther- Runner Up Across 2 DPT Events
The Adda52 Team Pro and COO of Poker Sports League (PSL), Nikita has been shining at live felts. The petite girl from Delhi who first came in headlines for winning 5K Ladies Event at India Poker Championship (IPC) has been enjoying incredible run this year. Back in February 2017, she won HK$ 4000 No Limit Hold’em – Teams Event at Macau Poker Cup 26, becoming India’s first woman poker player to win an international event title. Later in June, she grabbed eyeballs for making a remarkable 5th place finish in WPT500 Main Event for $ 65,000 at Aria 2017 Poker Classic, Las Vegas.
Nikita Luther had a great WSOP season this year and run deep across several WSOP events in July 2017. She grabbed big headlines when she finished 71th for $ 8,173 in the $ 3,000 No Limit Hold’em (Event #68) at 48th World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2017, Las Vegas. Now she is back in the news for her incredible run in DPT Series at Deltin Royale. Yeah, she made two runner-up finishes in the series.
Nikita finished runner-up in DPT Ladies Event wherein the field was small but there was plenty of poker talent with Muskan Sethi, Adda52 Celebrity Pro Minissha Lamba, Maria Kirloskar, defending champion Sunita Sundar, Smita Sethi, Sarita Singh, Neha Gera, Manju Savhlok and Katrina Solomen all battling it hard for the title. Eventually, it was Minissha Lamba who emerged victorious after defeating her fellow pro Nikita in heads up. Nikita took home INR 40,000 for her second place finish.
Nikita continued her impressive run from Ladies Event and went on to finish as runner up again in 15K Bounty Event, which had INR 10 Lac in the guaranteed prize pool and attracted 121 entries with top 12 making in the money. The field was not huge, but was really tough with so many notables and pros vying for the title. After fierce battles of several hours, it was Vikram Kumar who won the title and Nikita finished as runner-up, taking home an impressive INR 2,36,000 for her 2nd place finish.
3.Minissha Lamba- Ladies Event Champion
Adda52 Celebrity Pro Minissha Lamba who has been playing poker for several years has made appearances in the prestigious Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) and several other big money tournaments hosted in the country. WPT 500 Aria poker was her first international poker event wherein she represented Adda52.com as a celebrity pro. While Minissha has already made several deep runs various DPT events, she was a big story this time for winning DPT Ladies Event for INR 70,000.
It was Minissha’s first-ever victory in DPT history. She had to battle it hard to make her way to the victory, as there was plenty of tough players, including Muskan Sethi, Maria Kirloskar, defending champion Sunita Sundar, Smita Sethi, Sarita Singh, Neha Gera, Manju Savhlok and Katrina Solomen. However, she showcased her skills and patience through the tournament and eventually won the title after beating her fellow pro Nikita Luther in heads-up. Indeed, this win was a dream come true moment for her!
